Do you know what postmodern means?  It does not have anything to do with modern times or the future and the present, but it is related to postmodern art.  Postmodern refers to art that is aware that it is art, entertainment that is aware that it is entertainment, and absurdity that is aware that it is absurdity.  In fact, it is absurd for the sake of being absurd.  Now imagine a postmodern website.  How would Chicago email marketing work for a website that is aware that it is a website?  Email that is aware that it is email?  Advertisements aware that they are advertisements?  Web users that are aware that they using and surfing the web for no real reason but to waste time at work?  What would the Internet be like if it were aware that it was the Internet?  Not that I’m confusing the Internet with the World Wide Web, which is easy to do.  People do sometimes talk about the Internet like it’s some type of living organism.  It is definitely an entity to its self.  Surely, no one can control it.  It’s simply become too vast.  It’s like a whole other universe that now our universe cannot live without.  Think about how dependent we all are on the Internet for everything.  It is the true ruler of the world.
